We provide a wide variety of services, from Environmental Impact Assessments to Monitoring Services, using a holistic methodology. We further demonstrate our dedication to sustainability by supporting eco-friendly products like lightweight concrete and AAC blocks, as well as by implementing programs like water recycling.
Point B has a multidisciplinary team of highly skilled professionals that offer a fusion of both environmental and engineering skill sets, providing a complete package of environmental services.
Products and services offered by Point B fall under five core categories:
Point B provide best practice air quality monitoring solutions. Our complete air quality monitoring services, including ambient and continuous emissions monitoring, are performed in accordance with standards and guidelines to meet regulatory requirements. We provide full comprehensive environmental monitoring systems that comprise data management, design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and continuous operation and maintenance.
Point B personnel also specialize in industrial communication solutions for ease of integration of monitoring systems into DCS systems to satisfy both environmental and process applications. Point B offer a fully integrated Dust Management Package enabling real time site meteorology and particulate data to be used to inform automatic implementation of dust management measures to meet Site Management Plan Air Quality Objectives.
Point B meteorological monitoring solutions offer flexibility of design and engineering excellence to meet client and regulatory requirements. Real-time meteorological monitoring data is essential during planning and operation of mining and heavy industry projects. Our staff can customize a meteorological monitoring package to include telemetry, data reporting and web-based services to suit your specific needs.
We provide real-time meteorological services that feed into our dust management package, which combines real-time meteorology with dust data to trigger dust control measures automatically.
Point B provides bespoke real-time noise monitoring developed with a focus on long-term environmental compliance applications and industrial noise policy needs. The two main applications for both workplace noise monitoring and ambient noise monitoring for operational situations like manufacturing industry, oil & gas industries, major construction, and other large scale operations..Recommendations are also developed to ensure compliance within the allowed noise threshold.
A noise dosimeter is a type of specialist sound level meter used to quantify an individual’s cumulative exposure to noise over time. This is often done in order to comply with health and safety requirements such Ministerial Decision 79/94 and 80/94 and international regulations such as Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) 29 CFR 1910.95.
Water quality sampling is performed by Point B to ensure meeting environmental monitoring industry standards and are tailored to meet site water management and compliance requirements. Water sample analysis data interpretation and recommendations made to improve the conditions at site and overall water quality
Point B provide project services for all aspects of environmental monitoring, including complete project management, from conception through to ongoing operation and maintenance of monitoring programs and data services.
Infrared Thermography is playing an increasingly important role in the prevention and control of visually undetectable maintenance problems. This technology allows us to detect overloaded circuits, faulty or high resistance connections, damaged fuses and clips, and other defective electrical components before they can cause expensive facility damage or production losses. Thermographic imagery helps to eliminate the risk of human injury and/or loss of life.
Temperature profiling is the process of recording and interpreting temperatures of buildings / products as they move through a process. The collected numeric data is converted by temperature analysis software into meaningful information and displayed as a graph – thermal profile.
Point B carries a wide selection of light meters from Hukseflux, including data-logging and wide ranging light meters. The measurement of light intensity with a lux meter is becoming increasingly important in the workplace due to safety concerns.
Gas leak detection is the process of identifying potentially hazardous gas leaks by sensors. These sensors usually employ an audible alarm to alert people when a dangerous gas has been detected. Point B performs gas leak detection via combustible gas leak detectors as low as 1 ppm, LEL & UEL Gas Detections, Zone Classifications, Gas leakage from pipelines network or in other hazardous areas.
Confined Spaces. Oxygen deficiency often occurs in confined spaces, which are defined as being large enough and configured so that a person can enter and perform assigned work. Confined spaces have restricted means for entry or exit, and they are not designed for continuous employee occupancy. Point B monitor O2 or other gas concentrations in confined space by using gas detectors/monitors.
Noise dosimeter is a specialized sound level meter intended specifically to measure the noise exposure of a person integrated over a period of time; usually to comply with Health and Safety regulations such as the Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) 29 CFR 1910.95.
Waste heat is the unused heat given to the surrounding environment (in the form of thermal energy) by a heat engine in a thermodynamic process in which it converts heat to useful work. Point B deals in the Mass Flow Measurement of waste heat gases / emissions in m3/h or kg/h, calculations of CO2, NO, NO2, SO2 by volume in % and by mass in kg/h, Stack temperature and Air flow velocity and stack pressure measurements.
When these particles remain in the compressed air, they can make their way into the final product and contaminate it. Compressed air testing is simply a standardized test that can be used to analyze the quality of the air and detect any contaminants. Point B can perform compressed air testing according to ISO 8573-1:2010 which specifies purity classes of compressed air with respect to particles, water and oil independent of the location in the compressed air system at which the air is specified or measured. Particulates 0.3 μm, 0.5 μm, 1 μm, 2.5 μm, 5 μm and 10 μm, HC as Oil, Dew Point as Moisture.
Indoor air quality is the air quality within and around buildings and structures. IAQ is known to affect the health, comfort and well-being of building occupants. Poor indoor air quality has been linked to Sick Building Syndrome and reduced productivity. Point B indoor air quality monitoring services, includes; Dust monitoring respirable & non-respirable, Toxic fumes/gases, VOC’s, Temperature Profiling, Humidity, Solar Irradiance, Ventilation System, Oxygen Levels, Carbon Dioxide Levels Etc.
Point B deals in solar irradiance measurements, the solar irradiance integrated over time is called solar irradiation, insolation, or solar exposure. NASA-SSE (Surface Meteorology and Solar Energy program) are monthly data, average of satellite measurements, provided for any cell in a grid of 1°x1° over the world (1° Latitude is 111 km).
Remote sensing is the science of obtaining information about objects or areas from a distance, typically from mobile tower, GPS or satellites. Point B perform Remote Sensing and Modeling of Atmospheric Dust and Studying Its Impact on Environment, Weather, and Climate.
The studies included in this special issue are mainly concerned with ground-based, instrumentational or satellite observations and modeling of aerosol related events of natural or anthropogenic origin over climatically sensitive areas influenced by dust. Point B found that anthropogenic aerosols are dominant in the summer season even though the concentration was lower than the other seasons which can be attributed to natural and anthropogenic sources, as well as changing meteorological factor. Point B offer the following data delivery services:
Point B use tailored client portals to enable ease of access to data and swift evaluation. Data hosting options allowing comprehensive visualization options via secure web based interface.
Tailored automated graphical reporting:
Point B can provide automated data and graphical reporting, delivered via email, tailored to meet client requirements. Reporting can include evaluation of collected data against regulatory criteria.
Data validation can be automated via a ‘valid range’ approach as well as application of more sophisticated screening of the data to evaluate trends and agreement with data collected at other nearby monitoring sites.
